This sofa is conceived as a structure—almost architectural—before being a domestic object. It follows an architectural logic in which structure becomes the founding principle of the project. The whole rests on an assembly system of L-shaped aluminum profiles, held between two lateral plates of solid aluminum, 15 mm thick. These side panels, treated as true load-bearing elements, determine the sofa’s stability, proportions, and formal expression.

The L-shaped profiles articulate the seat, give structure to the armrests, and establish the sofa’s overall silhouette. Each component remains legible and identifiable, openly assuming its function without concealment. Aluminum is deliberately left exposed: the thickness of the plates, the precision of the edges, the fasteners, and the joints all fully participate in the visual language of the piece, asserting a direct industrial aesthetic, free of ornament or artifice.

At the heart of this rigorous framework, textile seating volumes are inserted, conceived as autonomous blocks with simple, orthogonal forms. Independent from one another, they allow for a variety of postures and uses. Their presence introduces a deliberate contrast between the softness of fabric and foam and the controlled rigidity of the metal frame.

The sofa adopts a low, horizontal profile, reinforcing its relationship to the ground and its anchoring in space. This mass is slightly lifted by wooden feet, creating a subtle separation from the floor. This detail introduces a measured material rupture, adding further tension between visual heaviness and constructive lightness.

Through the deliberate use of the L-profile as a formal language, and through the tension between massive plates, exposed structure, and free seating elements, this sofa questions the boundary between furniture and architecture. It asserts a position in which construction is no longer a means, but the very subject of the design—where the object becomes both a support for use and a structural manifesto.
